A round 'buddle or boodle' used in the process of dressing the ore, After the lead ore had been through the stamps of the crushing mill, it would then be fed into this shallow pit as a slime which had water running through it. As the water was agitated, the lighter waste material would be washed away to a tailings pit leaving the lead concentrate to be scooped out.
