The shallow adit at Cornelly ran to the old Mountain shaft which now acts as the drain for the rising water. Although silted up, the group has been through the chest deep water to find the shaft, which then, was blocked by a Volkswagen Beetle. Like all shafts, it eventually dropped to water and was capped in 1999 by the lands division.
